Smile: Pet Dental Month Is Nearly Here

Our Love Bites treats are made with healthy ingredients.

The Posh Puppy Boutique has just what you need to help keep your pets smiling during February, which is Pet Dental Month.

The American Veterinary Medical Association suggests dog and cat owners schedule dental checkups and learn how to brush their pets’ teeth.

Problems with your dog or cat’s teeth and gums can cause a wide range of problems, some of them severe. For example, if chewing causes a dog or cat pain, they may not eat enough to sustain them. This can lead to kidney problems, liver problems and even heart disease, ultimately resulting in death. Treatment with antibiotics, or pulling teeth in sever cases, can help your pet live a long, healthy life.

Your first step should always be regular exams by your local vet. Changes in diet, minor surgery or regular brushing may be suggested.

While the Posh Puppy does not sell over the counter or prescription pet foods, we do sell healthy, wholesome treats made with natural ingredients. For example, our Love Bites Boxed Treats ($19) are made with organic oat flour, organic brown rice flour, peanut butter, organic chicken broth, honey, peanut oil, carob (chocolate can be deadly to pets), eggs and cinnamon. They are topped with yogurt coating, carob and vegetable coloring, ensuring a healthy and delicious snack.

Another dental issue for dogs, especially those who spend most of their time inside, is lack of chewing. Effective chewing cleans their teeth and gums reducing the buildup of harmful bacteria. Our Coats Take Fashion Furrward

We sell several coats from Susan Lanci, who is just one of our many designers combining years of fashion experience with a desire to make your pet look as lovely as you.

Among Lanci’s pet-centric designs are these faux fur versions:

·  The Baily Coat in Luxe Suede Jaguar ($76) has a Chenille lining with a simple bow embellishment and “D” ring for leashes. Made in the USA, it comes in sizes from double extra small to extra large, depending on girth. It also comes in Savannah Brown($76) and Savannah Red ($76).
