Well heeled dogs will soon have access to the dog equivalent
of a human day spa with the opening of the Posh Paws Grooming Salon in Rocklin.
Located at 6040 Stanford Ranch Rd., Ste. 200, the
dog-oriented grooming salon is open 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7:30 a.m.
– 2 p.m. Saturday. It occupies the former location of the Posh Puppy Boutique,
which moved next door.
“We found a big need for a more personalized grooming salon,”
Jennifer Kirk, owner of both businesses, said. “Big box stores surround us but
none of them offer one-on-one care for pets before and after their grooming. We
do.”
Unlike many pet grooming businesses, Posh Paws uses pens—not
cages—to contain dogs while they wait for their owners. The full-service salon
also provides hourly daycare that includes walks, play time with staff and
other special treats. Cats are also groomed in the new facility.
Services, such as shampoos and conditioning treatments, use
the all-organic Aroma Paws line of chemical-free grooming products that are
made in the USA. Manager Ashley Gearhart leads the salon’s staff with her
10-plus years of grooming experience.
Organic products and one-on-one care are among the features
setting the Posh Paws Grooming Salon apart from the competition. Another is the
service menu, which is based partly on the dog’s primary breed. Fees are less
for smaller dogs than bigger dogs.
Service options start with a massaging, relaxing Posh Paws
Spa Bath that includes nail clipping or filing, ear cleaning and anal gland
extraction plus a towel wrap and warm air blow. Baths are topped with a bow or
bandana.Other options include:
- The Light Spa Service adds light trimming of feet, pads sanitary area and face with fees varying by breed.
- The Full Service package adds an overall cut, with fees varying by breed and coat condition.
- Walk-In (a la carte) and add-on services, such as de skunk shampooing and flea and tick removal, are also available.
